Ryan and Elizabeth are dedicated to

Winning strong contracts: Ryan and Elizabeth are both continuing on in their roles on the Negotiations Committee. They are committed to doing everything they can to settle a strong successor contract before the current contract expires. They know that such a contract will need to include a COLA that keeps pace with inflation and protect against administrative overreach.

Protecting educator autonomy: Students learn best when educators are trusted as expert professionals. Ryan and Elizabeth have heard repeatedly from our members that the changes over the last three years - in both substance and pace - have too often ignored educator expertise, chipped away at educators' abilities to do their best work, and led to confusion. Ryan and Elizabeth will be strong advocates of letting educators educate.

Building bridges with the community: Ryan and Elizabeth will continue their work to build relationships with community stakeholders and elected officials to ensure that educator voices have a seat at the table in guiding the future of the Newton Public Schools.

Working with you and for you: Ryan and Elizabeth are running to serve. They will listen carefully, advocate hard, and continue to work to do the work to build a strong union. Our power comes from our members, so Ryan and Elizabeth will seek to keep members engaged, informed, and organized.
